For the 2016-2017 year, Council 966 has decided to focus on “Culture of Life” activities. The intent of a focus is commit resources to a single area versus spreading ourselves thin over the wide range of service needs. Below are the event’s we’re supporting this year. September 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Women\u2019s Health: emotional and physical \u2013 presented by Jenifer Bowen, CEO of Iowa Right to Life, 5:30,\u00a0Marshalltown Public Library<\/div>\n

September 24:<\/strong> Oktemberfest Right-to-life float, 9am, Miller JH<\/div>\n

September 28-Nov 6:<\/strong> Participation in a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil\u00a0at public right of way by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland,\u00a01000 East Army Post Road,\u00a0Des Moines, Iowa<\/p>\n

October 2:\u00a0<\/strong>Participation in our own Marshalltown prayer chain on Center St & Olive. 1-3pm<\/p>\n

October 8-9:<\/strong> Distribute Pro-Life Signs after Masses<\/p>\n

November:\u00a0<\/strong>none scheduled<\/p>\n

December 12, 2016: <\/strong>Prayer Service for the Sick & Suffering, St. Henry, 7pm Dec 12.<\/p>\n

April 8:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Iowa River Hospice Night of the Stars annual fundraiser, 5:30-8:30, Elmwood Country Club,\u00a0http:\/\/www.iowariverhospice.org\/nightofstars<\/a> \u00a0(We’re sponsoring a table for Knights widows.)<\/p>\n

April 27: \u00a0<\/strong>Financial support of Tast of Life (Birthright) Fundraiser being held at MCC.<\/div>\n

  • Mass with 4th Degree Honor Guard at one or more Nursing Homes<\/li>\n
  • Lent – Host ArchD End of Life Presentation<\/li>\n
  • Host viewing of\u00a0Voiceless<\/em><\/li>\n
